Schematic representation of some of the membrane molecules present on mature T and B lymphocytes, and natural killer (NK) cells. Molecules involved in specific binding of antigen are shown in purple. CD16 (FcgRIII) on NK cells and CD32 (FcgRII) on B cells are receptors for the Fc region of IgG. CD21 and CD35 on B cells are receptors for complement components. Most TH cells express CD4, whereas most TC cells express CD8 (as do some NK cells).
